     Esmé Frances Sylvia Smyth was born on 24 February 1901.1 She was the daughter of Hon. Gilbert Neville Smyth and Esmé Edwards.1 She married Captain Evan George Charles Cavendish, son of Lt.-Col. Hon. William Edwin Cavendish and Elizabeth Janet Baillie, on 25 January 1923.1 She died on 6 October 1959 at age 58.1
     From 25 January 1923, her married name became Cavendish.1

     Captain Evan George Charles Cavendish was born on 23 February 1891.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. William Edwin Cavendish and Elizabeth Janet Baillie.1,2 He married Esmé Frances Sylvia Smyth, daughter of Hon. Gilbert Neville Smyth and Esmé Edwards, on 25 January 1923.1 He died on 4 September 1955 at age 64.2
     He was awarded the Order of the Nile.2 He was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun of Japan.2 He was awarded the Order of El Nahda of the Hedijaz.2 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1935.2 He was awarded the Silver Jubilee Medal in 1935.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George VI between 1936 and 1937.2 He was awarded the Coronation Medal in 1937.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.2
