     Lt.-Col. Alexander Borthwick was born on 28 February 1839.1 He was the son of John Borthwick, 13th of Crookston and Elizabeth Sutherland Dallas.1 He married Katherine Thistlethwayte, daughter of Thomas Thistlethwayte and Elizabeth Catherine Pakenham, on 20 July 1876.1 He died on 6 October 1914 at age 75.1
     Lt.-Col. Alexander Borthwick was Chief Constable of Lothians and Peebles.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Rifle Brigade.1 He was invested as a Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.).1

     Frank Hugh Pakenham Borthwick-Norton was born on 23 July 1877.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alexander Borthwick and Katherine Thistlethwayte.1 He married Eva Sardinia Burrows, daughter of George Burrows, on 5 January 1944.1 He died on 5 October 1959 at age 82, without issue.1
