     Sir Joseph Beecham, 1st Bt. was born on 8 June 1848.1 He was the son of Thomas Beecham and Mary Evans.1 He married Josephine Burnett, daughter of William Burnett, on 12 April 1873.1 He died on 23 October 1916 at age 68.1
     Sir Joseph Beecham, 1st Bt. held the office of Mayor of St. Helens, Lancashire in 1899.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He was invested as a Knight, Order of St. Stanislaus of Russia.2 He held the office of Mayor of St. Helens, Lancashire between 1910 and 1911.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1912.1 He was created 1st Baronet Beecham, of Ewanville, Huyston, co. Lancaster [U.K.] on 17 July 1914.1
