Jean Barclay of Towie-Barclay was born in 1727.2 She was the daughter of Sir Alexander Barclay-Innes of Coxton and Towie-Barclay, 3rd Bt. and Helen Duff.1 She married Robert Dalrymple, son of Sir Robert Dalrymple and Johanna Hamilton, on 22 July 1745.2 She died in May 1746, without surviving issue.2
On 20 January 1737 she was served heir to her mother.1 From 22 July 1745, her married name became Dalrymple.1

Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1710.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Dalrymple and Johanna Hamilton.1,2 He married, firstly, Margaret Sainthill, daughter of Peter Sainthill, on 12 July 1743.2 He married, secondly, Martha Edwin, daughter of Charles Edwin, on 17 August 1756.3 He died on 23 November 1790.3
He was a practising Advocate in 1730.2 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Dalrymple, of North Berwick, co. Haddington [N.S., 1698] on 21 August 1734.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1742 and 1747.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington between 1747 and 1761.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1761 and 1768.2 He was Kiing's Remembrancer of Scotland in 1768.2
