     Alice Barnham was the daughter of Benedict Barnham and Dorothy Smith.1 She married, firstly, Francis Bacon, 1st and last Viscount Saint Alban, son of Sir Nicholas Bacon and Anne Cooke, on 10 May 1606 at Marylebone Chapel, Marylebone, London, England.1 She married, secondly, Sir John Underhill on 20 April 1626 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.2 She died on 29 June 1650.2 She was buried at Eyworth, Bedfordshire, England.2
     From 10 May 1606, her married name became Bacon.1 As a result of her marriage, Alice Barnham was styled as Baroness of Verulam on 12 July 1618. As a result of her marriage, Alice Barnham was styled as Viscountess Saint Alban on 27 January 1620/21. From 20 April 1626, her married name became Underhill.2 She lived at Eyworth, Bedfordshire, England.1

     Sir John Underhill married Alice Barnham, daughter of Benedict Barnham and Dorothy Smith, on 20 April 1626 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.1 He died circa April 1679.1 He was buried on 14 April 1679 at St. Gile's-in-the-Fields Church, London, England.1
     Sir John Underhill was gentleman-usher to Viscountess St. Alban (later his wife) in 1625.1
