     Alice Barnham was the daughter of Benedict Barnham and Dorothy Smith.¹ She married, firstly, Francis Bacon, 1st and last Viscount Saint Alban, son of Sir Nicholas Bacon and Anne Cooke, on 10 May 1606 at Marylebone Chapel, Marylebone, London, England.¹ She married, secondly, Sir John Underhill on 20 April 1626 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.² She died on 29 June 1650.² She was buried at Eyworth, Bedfordshire, England.²
     From 10 May 1606, her married name became Bacon.¹ As a result of her marriage, Alice Barnham was styled as Baroness of Verulam on 12 July 1618. As a result of her marriage, Alice Barnham was styled as Viscountess Saint Alban on 27 January 1620/21. From 20 April 1626, her married name became Underhill.² She lived at Eyworth, Bedfordshire, England.¹
