     John Harold Booth Blackett was born on 20 December 1922.2 He is the son of Henry Beaumont Blackett and Evelyn Nora Mary Lazenby.2 He married Veronica Heath Stuart Tegner, daughter of Henry Stuart Tegner, on 20 April 1953.2 He died on 28 October 2001 at age 78.2
     John Harold Booth Blackett was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 15th/19th King's Royal Hussars.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded and invalided.2 He graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1945 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1948 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He was a solicitor in 1949.2 He lived at Whalton, Northumberland, England.1
