     He was a butcher after 1776 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.G, victualling the Hessian troops brought to fight the American revolutionaires.1

     William Backhouse Astor was born on 19 September 1792.1 He was the son of John Jacob Astor and Sarah Todd.1 He married Margaret Rebecca Armstrong, daughter of John Long Armstrong, Jr., in 1818.1 He died on 24 November 1875 at age 83.1
     He was educated at Columbia University, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.G.1 He was educated at Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1 He was educated at Göttingen University, Göttingen, GermanyG.1 William Backhouse Astor also went by the nick-name of 'The Landord of New York'.1
