     Sir Stephen John Arthur, 6th Bt. was born on 1 July 1953.1 He is the son of Sir Basil Malcolm Arthur, 5th Bt. and Elizabeth Rita Wells.1,2 He married Carolyn Margaret Diamond, daughter of Burnie Lawrence Diamond, in 1978.1 He and Carolyn Margaret Diamond were divorced.1
     Sir Stephen John Arthur, 6th Bt. was educated at Timaru Boy's High School, Timaru, New Zealand.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Arthur, of Upper Canada [U.K., 1841] in 1985.1

     Sir Basil Malcolm Arthur, 5th Bt. succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Arthur, of Upper Canada [U.K., 1841] on 27 July 1949.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [New Zealand] in 1962, for Timaru.2
