     Lt.-Col. William Yaldwyn Kington-Blair-Oliphant was born on 10 September 1906.1 He was the son of T/Lt.-Col. Philip Laurence Kington-Blair-Oliphant of Ardblair and Laura Geraldine Bodenham.1 He married Marjorie Winifred Lynas, daughter of W. H. Lynas, on 5 July 1941.1 He died in 1964.1
     He was educated at Bromsgrove School, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1930 and 1931.1 He fought in the Palestine Campaign in 1936.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1940.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.1 He fought in the Malayan Campaign between 1947 and 1950.1
