     Captain Ernest Kennaway Arbuthnot was born on 3 September 1876.1 He was the son of Major Archibald Ernest Arbuthnot and Anne Elizabeth Ball.1 He married, firstly, Edith Elizabeth Greene, daughter of Richard Bentley Greene, on 1 June 1910.1 He married, secondly, Gladys Mann, daughter of William Butland Mann, on 15 January 1920.1 He died on 12 June 1945 at age 68.1
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Chief Constable of Oxfordshire in 1921.1

     She was an actress.1 She was also known as Evie.1 From 1 June 1910, her married name became Arbuthnot.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He fought in the Korean War in 1951.1 He was Captain of the H.M.S. Santon between 1957 and 1958.1 He was Captain of the H.M.S. Dartington between 1958 and 1959.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1967.1 He was chief executive of Malta-Gozo Air Services between 1967 and 1992.1
