     Sarah Jane Cunard was born on 21 December 1821 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.1 She was the daughter of Sir Samuel Cunard, 1st Bt. and Susan Duffus.1 She married Gilbert W. Francklyn on 1 September 1840.1 She died on 21 December 1902 at age 81 at Newbury, Berkshire, England.1 She was buried at Speen, Newbury, Berkshire, England.1
     From 1 September 1840, her married name became Francklyn.1
