He married Henriette Paula Ignatia Marie Gräfin von Meran, daughter of Alois Graf von Meran and Elisabeth Baronin von Tinti, on 30 May 1973 at Bad Aussee, Steiermark, Austria.2 He married Henriette Gräfin von Seilern und Aspang on 26 September 1983 at Wald am Schoberpass, Germany.

He and Olga Prinzessin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg were divorced on 20 August 1920 at Leipzig, Brandenburg, Germany. He married Adelheid Prinzessin zur Lippe-Biesterfeld, daughter of Friedrich Graf zur Lippe-Biesterfeld and Marie Prinzessin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, on 14 July 1921 at Burg Schwalenburg, Lippe, Germany.
