     Friedrich I Herzog von Württemberg was born on 19 August 1557 at MompelgardG.2 He was the son of Georg I von Württemberg-Mompelgard and Barbara von Hessen.3,4 He married Sybille Prinzessin von Anhalt-Zerbst, daughter of Joachim Ernst Prinz von Anhalt-Zerbst and Agnes Gräfin von Barby-Muhlingen, on 22 May 1581. He died on 29 January 1608 at age 50 at Stuttgart, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.3,2
     He succeeded as the Herzog von Württemberg in 1593.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 6 November 1603 at Stuttgart, Baden-Württemburg, Germany, with the investiture conducted by Sir Robert Spencer, 1st Baron Spencer of Wormleighton.5

He died on 11 January 1665 at age 77.

He married, secondly, Elizabeth Oldenburg, daughter of Frederik II Oldenburg, King of Denmark and Sophia von Mecklenburg-Güstrow, on 19 April 1590.
