     Lord Claud John Hamilton was born on 20 February 1843 at Strabane, County Tyrone, IrelandG.2 He was the son of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell.1 He married Carolina Chandos-Pole, daughter of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Lady Anna Caroline Stanhope, on 20 July 1878.1 He died on 26 January 1925 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Londonderry between 1865 and 1868.1 He held the office of a Lord of the Treasury in 1868.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for King's Lynn between 1869 and 1880.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool between 1880 and 1888.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria between 1887 and 1997.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Kensington between 1910 and 1918.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1917.1 He was appointed Knight of Justice, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.J.St.J.)1 He held the office of High Steward of the Borough of Great Yarmouth and of Harwich.1

She was the daughter of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Lady Anna Caroline Stanhope.1 She married Lord Claud John Hamilton, son of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell, on 20 July 1878.1 She died on 21 September 1911 at age 54 at Richmond, Surrey, EnglandG.1
     From 20 July 1878, her married name became Hamilton.

     Henry Fane was born circa 1560.1 He was the son of Henry Fane and Elizabeth White.1 He married, firstly, Mary Fane, daughter of Thomas Fane, cousins.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Twysden, daughter of Roger Twysden and Anne Wyatt.1 He died in 1596 at Rouen, Caux, FranceG.1
     He was commander of the English forces sent to assist King Henry IV of France.1 He lived at Hadlow, Kent, EnglandG.1

     Colonel Gilbert Claud Hamilton was born on 21 April 1879.1 He was the son of Lord Claud John Hamilton and Carolina Chandos-Pole.1 He married, firstly, Enid Awa Elgar, daughter of Charles Elgar, on 16 May 1911.1 He married, secondly, Mary Blair, daughter of Joseph Allan Blair, on 29 November 1916.1 He died on 30 March 1943 at age 63 without issue.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.1

     From 16 May 1911, her married name became Hamilton.
