     Major Hon. Edward William Berkeley Portman was born on 30 July 1856.2 He was the son of William Henry Berkeley Portman, 2nd Viscount Portman of Bryanston and Hon. Mary Selina Charlotte FitzWilliam.2 He married Hon. Constance Mary Lawley, daughter of Beilby Richard Lawley, 2nd Baron Wenlock and Lady Elizabeth Grosvenor, on 7 July 1892.1 He died on 27 April 1911 at age 54, without issue.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Somerset in 1898.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Dorset Yeomanry.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Somerset.2

Mary Selina Charlotte FitzWilliam.2 He married Emma Andalusia Frere Kennedy, daughter of Lord Nigel Kennedy and Catherine Anne May, on 25 September 1901.2 He died on 18 January 1923 at age 62.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Portman of Orchard Portman, co. Mary Selina Charlotte FitzWilliam.2 He married, firstly, Mary Ada Gordon-Cumming, daughter of Francis Hastings Toone Gordon-Cumming and Emma Campbell, on 9 February 1888.1 He and Mary Ada Gordon-Cumming were divorced in 1897.1 He married, secondly, Harriette Mary Stevenson, daughter of William Stevenson, on 12 March 1898.1 He died on 6 June 1929 at age 64.1

She married, firstly, Claud Berkeley Portman, 4th Viscount Portman of Bryanston, son of William Henry Berkeley Portman, 2nd Viscount Portman of Bryanston and Hon. Mary Selina Charlotte FitzWilliam, on 9 February 1888.1 She and Claud Berkeley Portman, 4th Viscount Portman of Bryanston were divorced in 1897.1 She married, secondly, Ralph Assheton Harbord, son of Rev. Hon. John Harbord and Caroline Penelope Hamond, on 7 June 1899.2 She died on 13 May 1900.1
     From 9 February 1888, her married name became Portman. From 7 June 1899, her married name became Harbord.
