     Christopher Charles Wolfe Murray was born on 25 April 1903.1 He was the son of Commander Philip Charles Knightly Wolfe Murray and Ellie Blanche de Winton.2 He married Hester Mary Ogle, daughter of Newton Charles Ogle and Beatrice Anne Cradock-Hartopp, on 26 October 1933.1 He died in December 1980 at age 77 at Spilsby, Lincolnshire, England.3
     He was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He gained the rank of Sub-Lieutenant between 1922 and 1926 in the East Scot Division, Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant between 1939 and 1947 in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He was Flag Lieutenant to FOEAZ in 1942.1
