     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 1942 in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1942 and 1946.1 He held the office of County Councillor for Berkshire in 1953.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
