     He graduated from Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Essex Royal Horse Artillery.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1918.¹ He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Flannery, of Wethersfield Manor, Essex [U.K., 1904] on 5 October 1943.¹
     On his death his baronetcy became extinct.²

     Maud Boswell is the daughter of St. George Boswell.¹ She married Sir Harold Fortescue Flannery, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Fortescue Flannery, 1st Bt. and Edith Mary Emma Jenkyn, on 2 June 1917.¹
