     Sir Ronald Evelyn Leslie Wingate, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 September 1889.¹ He was the son of General Sir Francis Reginald Wingate, 1st Bt. and Catherine Leslie Rundle.^1,2 He married Mary Harpoth, daughter of John Harpoth, on 11 November 1916.¹ He died on 31 August 1978 at age 88.³
     He was educated at Bradfield College, Reading, Berkshire, England.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was with the Indian Civil Service between 1913 and 1938.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1919.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1931.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.¹ He was British Representaive on Inter-Allied Reparations Agency between 1947 and 1952.¹ He was chairman of Commission for the Restitution of Monetary Gold between 1947 and 1952.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1952.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Wingate, of Dunbar, East Lothian, and of Port Sudan [U.K., 1920] on 28 January 1953.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1959.¹ He wrote the book Wingate of the Sudan.¹ He wrote the book Not in the limelight.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1966 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ On his death his baronetcy became exctinct.³

     Catherine Leslie Rundle was the daughter of Captain Joseph Sparkhall Rundle.¹ She married General Sir Francis Reginald Wingate, 1st Bt., son of Andrew Wingate and Bessie Turner, on 18 June 1888.¹ She died on 10 June 1946.¹
     She was appointed Dame of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)¹ From 18 June 1888, her married name became Wingate.¹ She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.)¹ She was awarded the Coronation Medal in 1911.¹

     Captain Joseph Sparkhall Rundle gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Reverend William Wingate was born on 7 October 1808.¹ He was the son of Andrew Wingate and Margaret Miller.^1,2 He married, firstly, Jessie Buchanan, daughter of Alexander Buchanan, in 1834.² He married, secondly, Margaret Wallace Torrance, daughter of John Torrance, on 12 September 1843.² He died on 24 December 1899 at age 91.¹

     Andrew Wingate was born on 12 June 1778.¹ He was the son of William Wingate and Isabel Carrick.² He married, firstly, C. Miller.² He married, secondly, Margaret Miller on 14 December 1807.² He died on 23 June 1860 at age 82.¹
     He was a merchant at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.²

     Andrew Wingate was born on 25 December 1813.¹ He was the son of Andrew Wingate and Margaret Miller.^1,2 He married Bessie Turner, daughter of Richard Turner, on 5 June 1845.¹ He died on 24 June 1862 at age 48.¹
