     Edith Mary Perks is the daughter of Sir Robert William Perks, 1st Bt. and Edith Mewburn.1 She married Rear-Admiral Sir Bertram Cowles Allen, son of Staff Cdr. George Henry Allen, on 18 December 1908.1
     From 18 December 1908, her married name became Allen.1

     She gained the rank of Section Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.1 From 18 November 1942, her married name became Bennett.1
