     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1913 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.1
