     Sir James Hope, 2nd Bt. was born on 2 May 1898.1 He was the son of Sir Harry Hope, 1st Bt. and Margaret Binnie Holms-Kerr.1 He died on 8 October 1979 at age 81.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of officer in the The Black Watch (R.H.R.)1 He was awarded the Military Medal (M.M.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hope, of Kinnettles, co. Angus [U.K., 1932] on 29 December 1959.1
