     Reverend James Ernest Gardiner was born on 27 July 1879.1 He was the son of John William Gardiner and Grace Anne Marie Louise Napier.1 He married Violet Helby, daughter of James Thomas Helby, on 22 April 1908.1 He died on 18 March 1937 at age 57.1
     He was educated at Bradfield College, Reading, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1
