     Archibald Hugh James was born on 8 November 1877.1 He was the son of William Edward Ashton James and Emily Annabella Wybergh.1 He died on 26 March 1918 at age 40, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in the Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) and bar.1 He fought in the First World War.1

     Vice-Admiral Thomas Norman James was born on 21 December 1878.1 He was the son of William Edward Ashton James and Emily Annabella Wybergh.1 He married Katherine Mary Stewart, daughter of Charles Edward Stewart, on 31 October 1918.1
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.1 He was commissioned in 1893 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1901.1 He gained the rank of Commander in 1913.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1917.1 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1924.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1929.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1931.1 He retired from the military in 1934, with the rank of Vice-Admiral.1
