     Joan Margaret Le Marchant was born on 11 April 1901.1 She was the daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir Edward Thomas Le Marchant, 4th Bt. and Evelyn Brooks Knowles.2 She married Major Noel Brand Brooks, son of Hon. Marshall Jones Brooks and Florence Thomas, on 29 September 1921.2 She died in 1984.2
     From 29 September 1921, her married name became Brooks. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Oxfordshire in 1953.1
