     Sir Archibald Alison, 4th Bt. was born on 5 November 1888.1 He was the son of Sir Archibald Alison, 3rd Bt. and Georgina Sarah Ann Bond-Cabbell.1 He married Isa Margery Tyrrell Giles, daughter of Sir Charles Tyrrell Giles, on 18 January 1919.1 He died on 9 December 1967 at age 79, without issue.1
     He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.1 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Alison, of Possil House, co. Devon [U.K., 1852] on 7 November 1921.1 He was Naval Assistant to Hydrographer between 1929 and 1931.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1930.1 He was Senior Naval Liasion Officer, Figher Command, Royal Air Force between 1939 and 1941.1

     Isa Margery Tyrrell Giles is the daughter of Sir Charles Tyrrell Giles.1 She married Sir Archibald Alison, 4th Bt., son of Sir Archibald Alison, 3rd Bt. and Georgina Sarah Ann Bond-Cabbell, on 18 January 1919.1
     From 18 January 1919, her married name became Alison.
