     William Massingberd was born circa 14 October 1703 at Bishopsgate, London, England.1 He was the son of Thomas Meux and Elizabeth Massingberd. He married, firstly, Mary Thornborough.1 He married Elizabeth Drake.1 He died before 15 November 1781 at Gunby, Lincolnshire, England.1
     He was given the name of William Meux at birth. In 1737 his name was legally changed to William Massingberd by Act of Parliament.1

     Sir William Massingberd, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Henry Massingberd, 1st Bt. He married Elizabeth Wynn, daughter of Richard Wynn.1 He died in 1719.1
