     He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Tank Regiment.1 He was awarded the Emergency Reserve Decoration (E.R.D.)1 He lived at Redbridge House, Crossways, Dorset, England.1
