Katherine Bruce was born on 27 November 1922.1 She was the daughter of George John Gordon Bruce, 7th Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Violet Dorothy Evelyn Done.1 She married Thomas Riviere Bland, son of Charles Riviere Bland, on 23 November 1946.1 She and Thomas Riviere Bland were divorced in 1961.1 She died on 2 November 2007 at age 84.2
     She was educated at Somerville College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 From 23 November 1946, her married name became Bland.1 On 1 July 1975 her name was legally changed to Katherine Bruce by Deed Poll.1 She lived in 1999 at 25 Kew Green, Richmond, Surrey, EnglandG.1

     Thomas Riviere Bland was born on 8 February 1921 at Godstone, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Charles Riviere Bland.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Katherine Bruce, daughter of George John Gordon Bruce, 7th Lord Balfour of Burleigh and Violet Dorothy Evelyn Done, on 23 November 1946.1 He and Hon. Katherine Bruce were divorced in 1961.1 He married Mary Millar, daughter of Gerald Arthur Millar and Ruth Cock, on 10 May 1962.3 He married, thirdly, Joan Catchpole in 1976.2 He died on 5 February 2014 at age 92.2
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1
