     Lieutenant James Bower Balfour was born in 1832.¹ He was the son of Francis Balfour and Margaret Bower.¹ He married Martha Maria Emerson, daughter of G. H. Emerson, in 1859.² He died in 1864.¹

     Hon. Caroline Georgiana Montagu-Scott was born in 1811. She was the daughter of Henry James Montagu-Scott, 2nd Baron Montagu of Boughton and Hon. Jane Margaret Douglas.¹ She married George William Hope, son of General Hon. Sir Alexander Hope and Georgiana Brown, on 5 March 1836.¹ She died on 5 December 1891.¹
