     Stephen Gardiner was born on 26 April 1924.1 He was the son of Clive Gardiner and Lilian Lancaster.1 He married, thirdly, Joan Scotson.1 He died on 15 February 2007 at age 82.1
     He was an architect.1 He wrote the book The Evolution of the House, published 1975.1

     Patrick Lancaster Gardiner was born on 17 March 1922.1 He was the son of Clive Gardiner and Lilian Lancaster.1 He married Susan Booth in 1955.2 He died on 24 June 1997 at age 75 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1
     He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa and Italy.1 He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.1 He was Tutor in Philosophy between 1958 and 1989 at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He wrote the book The Nature of Historical Explanation, published 1961.1 He wrote the book Schopenhauer, published 1963.2 He was appointed Fellow, Briitsh Academy (F.B.A.) in 1985.2 He wrote the book Kierkegaard, published 1988.2
