     Edwin Babington was baptised on 10 October 1585 at Thurcaston, Leicestershire, England.2 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Brutus Babington and Joan Bird.1,2 He married Francisca Cockes in August 1607.1
     He was Government Agent for monies granted in aid of distressed citizens of Derry on 10 October 1608.2 In 1641 he was taken prisoner by the rebels during the Rebellion.2
