     Edith Clair Douglas was born on 30 June 1858 at Mauritius.2 She was the daughter of Sholto James Douglas and Ann Harriet Mills.1 She married Sholto George Douglas Skrine, son of Henry Duncan Skrine and Susan Caroline Mills, on 20 June 1882 at St. Stephen's Church, South Kensington, London, England.1,2 She died on 28 September 1931 at age 73 at Kingsmoor, Box, Wiltshire, England.1,2
     From 20 June 1882, her married name became Skrine.1

     Sholto George Douglas Skrine was born on 24 August 1850 at Broad Street, Bath, Somerset, England.2 He was the son of Henry Duncan Skrine and Susan Caroline Mills. He married Edith Clair Douglas, daughter of Sholto James Douglas and Ann Harriet Mills, on 20 June 1882 at St. Stephen's Church, South Kensington, London, England.1,2 He died on 27 June 1927 at age 76 at Kingsmoor, Box, Wiltshire, England.1,2
     He held the office of Procurator-General of Mauritius.2

     He was with the Civil Service at Mauritius.1

     He was Deputy Commissioner, Delhi between 1898 and 1903.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1903.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1919.1 He was Chief Commissioner and Superintendent, The Andamans.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1
