Rowland Lionel Barnard was born on 30 June 1878 at Bedford, Bedfordshire, England.2 He was the son of Colonel William Andrew Moore Barnard and Caroline Harriet Millett.1,2 He married Hon. Eileen Hermione Plunket, daughter of William Lee Plunket, 5th Baron Plunket of Newton and Lady Victoria Alexandrina Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, on 12 October 1931.1 He died on 23 October 1955 at age 77.1
