     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Princess Louise's Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.² He lived at Mariefield, Roxburghshire, Scotland.¹

     Maud Alice Burke was the daughter of E. F. Burke.¹ She married Sir Bache Edward Cunard, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Edward Cunard, 2nd Bt. and Mary McEvers, on 17 April 1895.¹ She died on 10 July 1948.¹
     From 17 April 1895, her married name became Cunard.¹
