     Chichester Clotworthy Skeffington, 4th Earl of Massereene was born circa 1746.1 He was the son of Clotworthy Skeffington, 1st Earl of Massereene and Anne Eyre.1 He married Lady Harriet Jocelyn, daughter of Robert Jocelyn, 1st Earl of Roden and Lady Anne Hamilton, in 1780.1 He died on 25 February 1816.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Antrim between 1768 and 1797.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Antrim in 1797.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baron of Loughneagh, co. Antrim [I., 1660] on 12 June 1811.1 He succeeded as the 8th Viscount Massereene, co. Antrim [I., 1660] on 12 June 1811.1 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Massereene [I., 1756] on 12 June 1811.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Skeffington, of Fisherwicke, co. Staffs [E., 1627] on 12 June 1811.1

Anne Eyre1

     Anne Eyre was the daughter of Henry Eyre and Elizabeth Hickman.1,2 She married Clotworthy Skeffington, 1st Earl of Massereene, son of Clotworthy Skeffington, 4th Viscount Massereene and Lady Katherine Chichester, on 25 November 1741.1 She died on 20 May 1805.1
     After her marriage, Anne Eyre was styled as Viscountess Massereene on 25 November 1741. From 25 November 1741, her married name became Skeffington.1 After her marriage, Anne Eyre was styled as Countess of Massereene on 28 July 1756.
