     Ottilia Maude Messel was born on 24 March 1873 at Lambeth, London, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Ludwig Ernest Wilhelm Leonard Messel and Annie Cussans.1 She married Rear-Admiral Ernest Kindersley Loring, son of Reverend Edward Henry Loring and Charlotte Watson, on 7 April 1897 at St. James Church, Paddington, London, England.1,2 She died on 4 February 1945 at age 71 at Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.2
     From 7 April 1897, her married name became Loring.1

     Rear-Admiral Ernest Kindersley Loring was born on 18 October 1869 at Gillingham, Norfolk, England.1,4 He was the son of Reverend Edward Henry Loring and Charlotte Watson.1 He married Ottilia Maude Messel, daughter of Ludwig Ernest Wilhelm Leonard Messel and Annie Cussans, on 7 April 1897 at St. James Church, Paddington, London, England.1,4 He died on 24 December 1945 at age 76 at Court House, Rusper, Sussex, England.1,4
     He was commissioned on 15 December 1885 with the rank of Midshipman, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 18 November 1892.2 He gained the rank of Commander on 31 December 1903.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 30 June 1910.2 He was commander of the H.M.S. Indomitable on 13 August 1917.2 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 9 March 1921.2 He retired from the military on 15 January 1923.2

     Reverend Edward Henry Loring was born circa 1823.1 He was the son of Venerable Henry Lloyd Loring and Henrietta Aurora Louisa Kindersley.1,2 He married Hannah Adelaide Marsh on 11 May 1853 at Watford, Hertfordshire, England.1 He married Charlotte Watson, daughter of William George Watson, on 5 August 1863 at Trinity Church, Marylebone, London, England.1 He died in 1879 at Loddon, Norfolk, England.1
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1

     Charlotte Watson was the daughter of William George Watson.1 She married Reverend Edward Henry Loring, son of Venerable Henry Lloyd Loring and Henrietta Aurora Louisa Kindersley, on 5 August 1863 at Trinity Church, Marylebone, London, England.1 She died on 8 August 1895, drowned in the wreck of S.S. Catterthun off the east coast of Australia.1
     From 5 August 1863, her married name became Loring.1
