     Mary Norvell was baptised on 21 September 1654.¹ She was the daughter of George Norvell and Marion Elphinstone.¹ She married, firstly, David Falconer, Lord Newton, son of Sir David Falconer of Glenfarquhar and Margaret Hepburn, on 16 February 1678 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ She married, secondly, John Hume, 9th of Ninewells, son of John Hume, 8th of Ninewells and Margaret Home, after 1687.¹ She died in June 1695 at age 40.¹
     From 16 February 1678, her married name became Falconer.¹ From after 1687, her married name became Hume.¹
