     Lt.-Gen. Thomas Foster was born in 1796 at Gloucestershire, England.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Foster and Joanna Slade.1 He died in 1872 at Kensington, London, England.1
     He was commissioned in 1815 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Royal Engineers.1

     Mary Merry is the daughter of Henry Merry. She married Thomas Jermyn, 2nd Baron Jermyn, son of Thomas Jermyn and Rebecca Rodway.1
     Her married name became Jermyn.1 After her marriage, Mary Merry was styled as Baroness Jermyn in 1683.

     From 2 February 1682, her married name became Davers.1

     Sir Robert Davers, 2nd Bt. was born in 1653.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Davers, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Luke.2 He married Hon. Mary Jermyn, daughter of Thomas Jermyn, 2nd Baron Jermyn and Mary Merry, on 2 February 1682.1 He died on 1 October 1722.2
     He held the office of Member of the Council [Barbados] in 1682.2 He held the office of Chief Baron of the Exchequer of the Court of Pleas [Barbados] between 1683 and 1688.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Davers, of Rougham, co. Suffolk [E., 1682] in June 1685. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bury St. Edmunds between 1689 and 1701.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bury St. Edmunds between 1703 and 1705.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk between 1705 and 1722.2
