     John Beauchamp Blackett was born on 6 May 1939.1 He was the son of Major Christopher William Stewart Burdett Blackett and Kathleen Charlotte Williams-Wynn.2 He married, firstly, Sarah Jennifer Withycombe, daughter of James Trevor Gridley Withycombe, on 15 January 1964.1 He married, secondly, Susan Elizabeth Badger, daughter of Michael William Badger and Evelyn Elizabeth Hoskins, in 1977.3 He died on 5 June 2019 at age 80.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1960 in the Coldstream Guards.1
