     Sir Frederick Wigan, 1st Bt. was born on 4 October 1827.1 He was the son of John Alfred Wigan and Elizabeth Pratt Lewis.2 He married Mary Harriett Blunt, daughter of Joseph Blunt, on 26 April 1857.1 He died on 2 March 1907 at age 79.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the King's (Liverpool) Regiment.3 He was director of North London Railway.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County London in 1894.1 He was appointed Knight in 1894.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey in 1894.1 He was created 1st Baronet Wigan, of Clare Lawn, Mortlake, Surrey and Purland Chase, Ross, co. Hereford [U.K.] on 9 March 1898.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Surrey.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County London.1

     Mary Harriett Blunt was the daughter of Joseph Blunt.2 She married Sir Frederick Wigan, 1st Bt., son of John Alfred Wigan and Elizabeth Pratt Lewis, on 26 April 1857.1 She died on 10 April 1915.1
     From 26 April 1857, her married name became Wigan.

     Arthur Lawford Wigan was born on 27 April 1868.1 He was the son of Sir Frederick Wigan, 1st Bt. and Mary Harriett Blunt.2 He married Beatrice Bagot, daughter of Colonel Charles Hervey Bagot, on 29 July 1896.1 He died on 26 August 1944 at age 76.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1
