Carteret Mussenden Leathes was born in July 1698.1 He was the son of John Mussenden and Jane Leathes.1 He married Loveday Garrod.1 He died in 1780.2
He was given the name of Carteret Mussenden at birth.2 He matriculated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1717.2 In 1727 his name was legally changed to Carteret Leathes.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury in 1727.1 He held the office of Recorder of Harwich in 1734.2
