     Rt. Rev. Ernest Arthur Copleston was born in 1855 at Barnes, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Reverend Reginald Edward Copleston and Anne Elizabeth Sharpe.2 He married Eveline Charlotte Fox-Strangways, daughter of Reverend Henry Fox-Strangways and Charlotte Chester Copleston, on 2 January 1890.1 He died on 24 August 1933.1
     He held the office of Bishop of Colombo.1
