Marianne Wavell is the daughter of Edmund Minson Wavell.2 She married William Wakefield, son of Edward William Wakefield and Susanna Birkbeck, on 16 October 1861.1

Edward William Wakefield was born on 8 September 1862.1 He was the son of William Wakefield and Marianne Wavell.2 He married Mary Wilkinson, daughter of J. R. Wilkinson, on 8 September 1886.1 He died on 3 August 1941 at age 78.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1883 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1893 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kendal.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kendal.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Westmorland between 1900 and 1901.2 He gained the rank of Captain between 1914 and 1915 in the 11th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1916 in the 4th Reserve Battalion, Border Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Captain between 1917 and 1918 in the 37th Labour Company, France.2 He held the office of Mayor of Kendal between 1925 and 1926.2 He lived at Stricklandgate, Kendal, Westmorland, England.1
