     George Macaulay Trevelyan was born on 16 February 1876.1 He was the son of Sir George Otto Trevelyan, 2nd Bt. and Caroline Philips.2 He married Janet Penrose Ward, daughter of Humphry Ward, on 19 March 1904.1 He died on 20 July 1962 at age 86.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1896 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1900 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Commandant, British Red Cross Unit in Italy during First World War.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1 He was Regius Professor of Modern History between 1927 and 1943 at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was awarded the Order of Merit (O.M.) in 1930.1 He was Master between 1940 and 1951 at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of High Steward of Cambridge in 1946.1 He wrote the book History of England.1 He wrote the book British History of the Nineteenth Century.1 He wrote the book Grey of Falloden.1 He wrote the book Lord Grey of the Reform Bill.1 He wrote the book Garibaldi and the Making of Italy.1 He wrote the book England Under Queen Anne.1

     Janet Penrose Ward was the daughter of Humphry Ward.2 She married George Macaulay Trevelyan, son of Sir George Otto Trevelyan, 2nd Bt. and Caroline Philips, on 19 March 1904.1 She died in 1956.1
     From 19 March 1904, her married name became Trevelyan. She was awarded the Companion of Honour (C.H.) in 1936.1
