     He was educated at Milton Abbey School, Milton Abbas, Dorset, England.1 He was registered as a Professional Associate, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (A.R.I.C.S.)1 He lived in 2003 at Old Vicarage, Mapledurham, Reading, Berkshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow, co.      Hugh Bruce Ismay Cheape was born in 1919.2 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. George Ronald Hamilton Cheape and Margaret Bruce Ismay.2 He married Moira Olive James, daughter of W/Cdr. Sir Archibald William Henry James and Bridget Mary Idol Guthrie, on 17 October 1947.3,4 He died on 8 May 2010.2
     He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 Hugh Bruce Ismay Cheape usually went by his middle name of Bruce.5 He lived at South Lodge, Isle of Mull, Scotland.1
