     Richard Sykes was born in 1706.1 He was the son of Richard Sykes and Mary Kirkby.2 He married Jane Hobman.1 He married Anna Maria Edge.1 He died in 1761, without issue.1
     Builder of Sledmere.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Hull Volunteers.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1752.1

     Reverend Sir Mark Sykes, 1st Bt. was baptised on 9 May 1711.1 He was the son of Richard Sykes and Mary Kirkby.2 He married Decima Woodham, daughter of Twyford Woodham, on 14 February 1735.1 He died on 14 September 1783 at age 72.1
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He was Rector at Roos, Yorkshire, England.1 He was Rector at Roos, Yorkshire, England.1 He was created 1st Baronet Sykes, of Sledmere, co. Yorks [Great Britain] on 28 March 1783.1
