Ralph le Botiler, 7th Lord Sudeley was born in 1389.2 He was the son of Thomas le Botiler, 4th Lord Sudeley and Alice Beauchamp.3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth de Norbury before 6 July 1419.1 He married, secondly, Alice Deincourt, daughter of Sir John Deincourt, 5th Lord Deincourt, circa 8 January 1462/63.3 He died on 2 May 1473, without surviving male issue.1
He succeeded as the 7th Lord Sudeley [E., 1299] in 1417, although he was not called to Parliament.3,4 He was appointed Knight between 1418 and 1435.1 In 1420/21 he was granted land in France.1 He was Captain of Arques and Crotoy in France in 1423.1 He held the office of Chief Butler to King Henry VI in January 1434/35.1 He held the office of Member of the King's Council in France and Normandy in 1440.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1440.1 He was created 1st Baron Sudeley, co. Gloucester [England] on 10 September 1441.1 The impossibility of his holding any status as 7th Lord Sudeley in contemporary eyes is shown by his being created by patent Baron Sudeley in 1441.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Exchequer between 1443 and 1446.1 On his death the Barony of 1441 expired but the notional one of 1299 would by later doctrine have been deemed to have fallen into abeyance between his sisters' issue.1
