     Arthur Rickman Hone was born on 22 July 1880 at Burseldon, Hampshire, England.2,1 He was the son of Reverend Evelyn Joseph Hone and Constance Jane Monro.2 He married Olive Gertrude Fairbridge Scanlen, daughter of Sir Thomas Charles Scanlen and Sarah Dennison, on 12 February 1907.1 He died on 18 October 1949 at age 69.1
     He was educated at St. John's School, Leatherhead, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1923.1 He held the office of Chief Magistrate [Southern Rhodesia].1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He lived at Harare, Zimbabwe.1
