     Sir Thomas Stanley, 1st Bt. was born on 31 May 1597.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Stanley and Elizabeth Warburton.2 He married Elizabeth Pitt, daughter of Sir Thomas Pitt, before 1625.1 He died circa 28 August 1672.1 He was buried on 31 August 1672.1
     He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Cheshire from 1630 to 1631.1 He was created 1st Baronet Stanley, of Alderley [England] on 25 June 1660.1
